The Medical Assisting Program prepares students to perform both clerical and clinical duties in physicians’ offices, clinics, or other healthcare settings. Medical assistants play a vital role in supporting patient care and keeping medical facilities running efficiently. This program combines classroom instruction with hands-on training to equip students with the skills needed to succeed in today’s medical field.

Program completion requires approximately one (1) year.

What You’ll Learn:

Students receive training in both administrative and clinical procedures, including:

  • Scheduling and receiving patients
  • Maintaining medical records
  • Handling phone calls and office communication
  • Managing billing, collections, and insurance claims
  • Preparing patients for exams and treatments
  • Measuring and recording vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature)
  • Administering medications under supervision
  • Assisting physicians during exams
  • Performing phlebotomy and basic laboratory procedures
  • Conducting electrocardiograms (EKGs)
